Monday Drawing - Doll
Julie and Paula have started Monday Drawing and this week's topic is Doll
Here are two of my Russian Nesting dolls or Matryoshka dolls better known as Babushka dolls. They are a symbol of motherhood and fertility.
I love them and have about 5 sets
Love this Anastasia!!! I love these dolls too!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is charming, and so is the hula magnet :) Great sketches!
ReplyDeleteI love russian dolls, I collect them too.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!! SO SO WELL DONE!! Love how you even achieved showing the INSIDE lip of the stacks!! BRAVA!
ReplyDeleteI love babushka's. There is a shop in Melbourne called "Babushka" and they have the most divine sets. Some of them are worth hundreds of dollars. Your drawing is very sweet.
ReplyDeleteNice drawing! You've done a great job showing the unusual shape!
ReplyDeleteHow neat to collect these dolls and what a great drawing. Wonderful perspective.
ReplyDeletedarling!!
ReplyDeleteI can't go to Melbourne without stoppin into the Babushka shop and drooling all over the fine goodies they sell. I always wanted to collect these but only have one set, they are sooo expensive. I lie, I do have a fabric set I made called Sister Lister and the Babushka Family Chior.

Not a great photo, taken before I had digital, so I might post them again on my blog when I have time.
Love your drawing and the memory it sparked in my mind.
This is really excellent work! I love the style of your art. It's Japanese looking.
