The Sweetest Escape........

I love the new Gwen Stefani song, 'The Sweetest Escape' ! Such a catchy, happy song...I love singing it really loud when Im in the car where no one but me can hear.

Where would your sweetest escape be??
Our world with endless possibilities and with so many cities to visit...
I think Id love to be in Japan right now. My friend Helen is over there for work and has promised to buy me lots of Japanese craft books! yeahh thanks Helen!!!

Another place Id love to visit one day is Morocco, the city of Fez is the pearl of the arab world. The ancient city and bazaar looks fascinating! beautiful old doorways, spices, gold and leather, sprinkles of pink and aqua.... i love medieval cities!!

I sketched my travel girl last night from a vintage 40's image - I love how woman dressed up to travel, gloves, hats and hard leather suitcases!

It is so intersting to read your post because it is Summer there, and winter here...And, memories of summer seem so far away...I was telling Mr. Lovee today, time goes by very very fast, but the seasons go by slowly. And, I lose my memory of seasons from season to season..Wow, does that make sense? So, you are putting me in the mood of smelling that clean sunscreen and that coconut body oil...And again umbrella laden drinks...I think I would go on your trips seen in you flickr photos...xo

  2. This drawing is just lovely! She looks so elegant.

BTW, even I don't know who Jade Goody is!! Just got celebrity by appearing on BB (so this is her second time). I've heard that worse happens in Oz! ;)

Forgot to say, I saw Ralph Fiennes in a film and his acting just knocked me out - a real master.

    Ill meet you in Morocco!!!

  4. mmm... morocco + japan for sure... peru + argentina + chile... scandanavia... and paris :) serious aching wanderlust over here right now.

  5. I think my sweetest escape would be Somerset and Dorset, heaven on earth. I couldn't love a place more. It is all so peaceful, the people are lovely and the place? It takes my breath away every time!

Travel used to be a dress up occasion, wasn't it? Your drawing evokes the romance of that era.

  7. Isn't it funny how we are never satisfied with where we are, either in space or time. I would much rather be back in Devon with the rain pouring down and a clotted cream tea on the table in front of me.

  8. I like your travel girl. She looks so fashionably adventurous!

You are so lucky to be getting some japanese craft books!

  9. You should do more 40's inspired pin-up stuff! I love this style.

I love your drawings. I wish I could draw. My best drawing involves potato people with stick figure arms and legs. I love Gwen Stefani, as well. My favorite song off her new album is "4 in the morning".

  11. She is very cute!
I think my sweet escape would be a beach where I could relax and get inspired.

  12. What a lovely line drawing and could you please send some of the warm weather you are having our way. It is minus 12 today!

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment!! i really appreciate it!
