Chop Chop.......
This week’s EDM challenge (no. 105) was to draw a pair of scissors so I drew my favourite pair… they are quite heavy but cut beautifully!
I wanted to draw some hair scissors because I recently had my haircut!
Ever since I had my boys Ive kept my hair long as its so easy to put up on a bad hair day (most days) and not have to deal with it but I had been craving a new look for a while so 3 weeks ago I went in for a drastic chop!
I’ll be getting braces on my teeth this year …there has been a little set back as I need a root canal first (Ughhh!) so looks like the braces will happen around June – Im really excited…how strange of me huh…the pain is unbearable Ive heard! but I am, I am!!!
so new hair and soon…straighter teeth!! No regrets!
Here is a pic of me aged 4 with a Milly Molly Mandy haircut.
Is it very weird that I really like my hair this way …very sweet!
And here is a pic at my friend Daphne’s wedding yesterday – what a beautiful day, she looked gorgeous!!
The reception was held at Wharf Restaurant so the views were spectacular and this picture was towards the end of the day, we were enjoying an espresso and petit fours before the happy couple said their farewell and left by boat ….

ReplyDeletenice scissors and drawing. great photos too.
ReplyDeletesuch sweet photos... the old and the new! i am getting the haircut urge too, just as it's getting long enough to pull back... maybe that means spring is coming :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful job on those scissors--love the shadows. Great photostoo.
ReplyDeleteI love your scissors!! Thanks for the tip on the Illustration Friday. I am definitely going to give it a go. I like your Milly Molly Mandy hair do, as well. I think i reminds me of Amelie and that's why I like it. I had braces for 9 years, from the time I was in the 3rd grade until I was in the 9th grade. It was uncomfortable at times, BUT it was tons of fun to pick colorful rubbberbands to put on. Definitely invest in some wax for your braces. That way if there is hardware that pokes you in the sides of your mouth you an use the wax to cover it and make it less painful.
ReplyDeleteThe scissor drawing is great ~ it looks very realistic! Good luck with your braces, I'm sure you'll be fine :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and your new hair!
Great scissors, very strong and I can almost feel the cold steel snipping around the ears ;) Good for you getting braces, my daughter decided to get them in her mid 20s and loves her smile now - you go Girl!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful you all look in the wedding photo. A wedding is a brilliant reason for a re style.
ReplyDeleteA hair cut!! YIKES. Those three words scare me. I have had long hair my whole life. I look like a potato head with shorter hair., at least I think so... and my mom always says, "Now sweety beety, remember, we are just not short hair people. She has shoulder length hair? I just made us sound like those ladies who I see at the country store, with hair down to their calves. In a V shape at the bottom. hee hee. Although, Crystal Gale hair sounds romantic to me...I am babbling. I think you are a dish no matter what you do. I am sure the haircut is adorable and sexy all at once.
ReplyDeleteYou've had children - braces are cake! Good luck with the new style!

ReplyDeletewonderful illustration, as always. i also love your hair cut in that photo of you as a little girl! and i love the cut now too! yay for straighter teeth {though in the photo they look perfect}, i wore braces for most of my teenage years and had my share of root canals, so i am here if you need me!
