Dilemma of the Week

do I cut my hair???

i know i know - in the scheme of things (economic crisis, people losing their jobs, crazy people with guns) Im being really silly with my dilemma
but hey my hair is the longest its ever being so its a hard decision ....im yearning for a change....those sleek shoulder length styles are looking really great right now
but then again I need to remind myself I do not look like Gwyneth Paltrow (current favourite celeb hairdo!)
anyway Ive made an 8.00am appointment for this Saturday.....so thats 3 days to ponder....

  1. In my years in the hairdressing industry, it didn't matter how hard the financial situation was, women always found the time & money for their hair. It helps make you feel good!! Post pics when you get it done :)

  2. If you're wanting a change why not! Or you could just get it cut a certain way but keep your length. Sometimes you need to take out for yourself anyway even with everything that is doing on in the world.
Thank you by the way! Many ideas for the wedding but I'm kind of overwhelmed at the moment. xxx

I'm a hairdresser aswell and my hair has always been long. I love short hair, but keep waiting until I have to cut it. When I start looking like a an old lady with long hair, I think I will then take the plunge. I don't know about you, but I like long or short , not in between, if I was to go short, I would do the Rhianna haircut, it is gorgeous...

  4. I like your dilemma, much more interesting than economic crises!

I think my hair looks better short, and actually I think that's true for most women I see- but I can't find the time to style it so I usually grow mine long so I can twist it up and keep it out of the way. But my hair is totally straight- if you're got a bit of body, I say go the chop.

    Chop, chop, chop!

  5. If you like your hair long, why not look for things to do with long hair? I have short hair, and yes, the older you get the better that idea is but short hair does require frequent haircuts. In some ways then, it takes more effort than long hair. Very few women can do the pale, slim-skinny, ultra-straight blond look of Ms G.

  6. Do it! I love getting a new hair do, and if it doesn't turn it just so, it's just a haircut - it'll grow out in a week!

If your hair is sufficiently long, perhaps you could cut some and donate it to Locks for Love? I think they require at least 10 inches.

Well I have shoulder length hair.I just got mine cut a week ago.I think , and the hairdressers all think that giving your hair a good cute about an inch or two every so often is good for the hair.keeps it healthy and in good shape.I like mine lonngm, havent had it short since 4th grade lolol.I had my hair short and wavy.My hair has a tendancy to wave when wet.LOL@ that pic my my my ,now thats long.

  10. I read once that you shouldn't keep the same hair style for more than 5 years. (OK, who made that rule, I have no idea...) My philosophy is that hair grows, so if I don't like it I will just grow it again. It's longish right now, but I loooooved having short hair.

  11. Go on, it'll grow back.

  12. Haircuts always make me a bit nervous. Just remember it does grow back...
If I had hair like the girl in your first pic though, I don't think I could consider it.
    Good Luck on Saturday...

  15. I had the same dilemma recently. I opted for a fringe. Big bang for only a little change, and I'm really happy I did. I was the same, in that my hair was the longest it had ever been (I had short hair most of my life) and actually getting a fringe made it look longer. Go figure!!! Anyway, I guess it's all done by now. Hope you are happy with it - I'm looking forward to hearing how it went. Happy Easter!!!
