The House Plant as Decor

Aren't these pictures wonderful?
im really loving the organic feel of fresh plants in the home...a touch of Green always looks beautiful with wood, bare white or neutral walls, stone and natural tiles too!

Grouped together like this as a focal point in the room is very inspiring,
and an easy decor project to update any home!

Summer sunshine
I hope you ALL had a wonderful Christmas!
if it was anything like mine you're probably sitting uncomfortably with a bloated belly and planning a good body detox! ha-ha
I always overeat but can you blame me? everyone makes such an effort with cooking and baking and there's always yummy treats on offer.

I'm back at work today and the Sun is out
- shining brightly and very proudly!!
the days after Christmas (when we were all home) were wet, cold and very gray...

We planned a Boxing Day picnic, its become a bit of a tradition but the wet weather kept us away so we lounged around at home ...we did manage to venture out to our local beach for a leisurely stroll on the sand - we made it home just before a heavy storm hit...so it was all good!!

the office is quiet with many people on leave so its great to be able to get things done without many distractions...

slowing down now...
I havnt blogged in days - life has been busy and Im sure its the same in your household?
Im still working with tommorow my last day for the week (yayyy!)
so I'll have 5 days off before I venture back into the office again....cant wait.

ive done some last minute shopping, wrapped presents, wrote all my cards....
my little one turned 6 yesterday too so we celebrated at home, got to keep it special!

phew...

i think im going to slow right down...
all the way down...
i dont want to even think about venturing outdoors especially to the shops, its scary crazy out there, non?!
i think I'll spend the rest of the week relaxing and baking - I want to make more mince pies and shortbread, I baked a batch last week but suprisingly there are none left!!

anyway hope you can slow down too and have a beautiful few days leading upto Christmas!

Simply Scrumptious

they truly are!
ive blogged about these before but now with Christmas and festive celebrations they are the easiest gift to make for a lovely edible gift!

perfect for teachers, work collegues or your eldery neighbour!!

3 handfuls of raw almonds - place on a baking tray in warm oven until crunchy and toasty.
Cool
Melt a bar (200g) of cooking chocolate remove from stove (or microwave) - add almonds into your bowl and mix until they are coated with chocolate.
drop teaspoonfuls of almonds onto baking paper lined trays and pop into the fridge until set.

A Creative Odyssey

Jess of Epheriell Designs is hosting a blog hop and today its my turn to post about my creative dreams and goals for the coming year.
My posting partner is Jane of 'Life @Number 8' and yesterday we had Gaby from Spokes 'n' Daggers and Prim and Propah so make sure you check her blog to see her creative goals and dreams too!

My goals are to
* Continue to be creative daily. I find im happiest when im creating and making things.
I also hope to put aside more time (stop procrastinating!!) to experiment more with mixed media collages, ACEO, swaps ( love swaps!) and to grow Percival Road Designs

* Draw more often - i dont do this enough! i love a quiet moment to just sit and draw, sketch, doodle....it feels good

*Be in the Moment - the days go by SO fast i need to remind myself to stop and smell the roses, observe my days, parent with more attention (autopilot parenting never works) enjoy every mouthfull of food, be thankful and gracious and appreciate life and living!!!
i think we all need to do this!!
.

What are your creative goals and dreams for the new year?

Bohemian Elegance
one of our challenges for 'a Fashionable Challenge group ' was
a fashion illustration with the them
Eclectic Chic

and here is my girl...wearing a maxi dress with pop socks , heels and a flouncy floral pin in her hair...
i wish i had more time to draw...
i think Boho chic is one of the hardest styles to pull off in both dressing up and also in home decor...the mish mash either looks perfect or
tragically wrong dont you think?... haha
I do love that bottom room though - so relaxed and super chic!

At my house
....its starting to feel festive!
Andrew and the boys put the tree up on Sunday so Im glad thats out of the way...it looks great and the boys had lots of fun
but i must admit i havnt really bought anything new for Christmas in ages
so every year our tree and festive decor always looks the same.

I do buy the boys a new ornament each
every year but i think trying to be traditional with Winter colours and themes in the middle of our hot Summer is kind of odd?!

Id like to slowly change our Christmas look with more pale, fresh feel - a new look to evoke an Aussie Christmas at our house ....good thing is i'll have a year to plan it!
