EDM Challenge #57

I have loads of photo frames placed in spots around the house.

This one is a silvery gray metal one with flowers, leaves and twigs embossed. The picture is of my mother as a teenager (we laugh and tell her she looks younger today at 53!!!) in her hometown Larnaca, Cyprus.

My parents always had professional photos done in old fashioned studios when they lived in Cyprus.

I think people over there still get them done as there are so many photography studios scattered all over town - I wonder how their business' are going these days with so many people using digital cameras?

One tradition high school graduates have over there is to get some professional pocket sized black and white shots of themselves and to exchange amongst each other - I think thats a really neat idea!!

  1. Your drawing is beautifully executed, Anastasia, and I love the journal entry that accompanies it. I love to learn about other cultures and when it isn't possible to visit then first hand stories are the next best thing. Thank you so much.

In answer to you question about Photoshop - get Photoshop Elements if you can. It's the cut down version that we have chosen to use with the kids at school. It has less features but is much easier to learn and the bells and whistles that are left out are not missed.

    Cheers,

  3. This is so evocative of those stiff, dated pictures that you see so much in Greece and Cyprus. Very good.
