Illustration Friday - 80's

I was a teen during the 80's so can remember everything in great detail. What a laugh we had!

My Illustration this week is a gym junkie because we all loved to go to aerobics class in the 80's especially step aerobics, that was the latest craze.

'Feel the burn! Can you feel it??'....our instructor would shriek at us!

Some other 80's moments I incorporated....Madonna Clones, Stiff teased fringe, the higher the better. Boofy big hair - hairspray was the most popular hair styling product. Lots of faux bijoux especially crucifix earrings, lacey fingerless gloves, Reebox or L.A Gear sport shoes oh and Raybans....they were so cool!

  5. ohmygod! It's like being in a timewarp and (aaahhh!) going right back there! Only thing I would have changed in your drawing (if I may be so bold and having been there personally) is put a g-string leotard OVER the bikepants! (I can't believe I did that! A least I didn't omit the bikepants as some did!!!)

Wait A minute!! Just commented at another blog early today about fingerless lacey Madonna gloves. Hello. Are we on the same wave of creative consiousness or what??? I love the 80's. I still listen to A-ha and Talk Talk in my Ipod!!! And Aerobics, my Goodness, I miss aerobics. Plain old aerobics to really really good music...The original "buns of steel" with the red bearded guy...Feel the burn girls, can you feel those cheesburgers squeezing out of your thighs.. Yes!! Thank you for the memories!! What about the leotard with the belt???? And puffy pleated striped cotton sleaved Danskin leotard with really shiny tights, and actually going to the supermarket dressed like that after aerobics.. Eeek, yikes. I am embarrased for myself. Good bye memories, good-bye.hahaha

Ah, such a flashback. I was a young mom then, so I didn't appreciate the 80s in quite the same way, but your drawing really does take me back!

  16. That reminds me of Waynes World, I'm not sure why, but it does... I think it must be the hair! Love it!
